When Response Point was released I was expecting a big push for the product into the retail channel at places like Best Buy, Office Depot, OfficeMax and more. Instead the only place I see Response Point is on a pretty Response Point web page buried on Microsoft’s website.
Microsoft pressed partners, specifically Microsoft Small Business Specialists, [...]

We used a Dell PowerEdge 800 server to power our Windows Home Server. It had a Dell SATA card with two new 500 gigabyte Seagate hard drives. Today we replaced the Dell card with a Promise TX4302 SATA card, it has two internal SATA ports and two external eSata ports, WOW what a difference in [...]

This past week has been super busy for us personally, businesswise and add to this the holidays. We sold our home, purchased a new home, signed a lease on a new office space all in three weeks. I finally completed the Home Server setup and I think it’s a very cool product, but after setup, [...]

Looking to get started with Windows Home Server? Then take a look at getting the new book Windows Home Server Unleashed. The link [...]

A recent ZDNet post by David Berlind reflects his views that Microsoft’s latest product, Windows Home Server, will be a flop.
I read the article and tried to read objectively knowing the direction of the author. As I read the article I was thinking to myself this is why we stopped serving the home user market [...]

So where did Windows Home Server falter?
The answer, not offering some form of Exchange server. Today’s family is extremely busy, trying to keep everyone’s schedule together is a chore for all. Offering side by side access to each other’s calendar, offering mobile access to the busy mom who always seems to be on the run, [...]

I watched a rather funny demo of Windows Home Server by Grey while in New Orleans, the product looks very good, but so far I’m noticing a big part missing … shared contacts, calendaring and OWA along with Mobile Activesync.
I’ve always thought how cool it would be for the home to have centralized computing like [...]
